‘Helping owners understand their dogs - not just train them’
-
Every dog is different, so there is no one-size-fits-alI approach. Before we begin any training, I assess your dog’s personality, behaviour and the reasons behind the problem.
Using modern dog psychology, proven training methods and 20 years of practical experience, I create a personalised training plan that motivates your dog to make better choices. My methods are kind, effective and designed to build trust, confidence and lasting behavioural change.
Most importantly, I teach you the skills to communicate with your dog clearly, so the improvements continue long after our session.
-
Before I visit, you’ll complete a short questionnaire and, where helpful, send me video’s of your dog’s behaviour. This allows us to spend our time working on solutions rather than gathering information.
We’ll begin by discussing the psychology behind your dog’s behaviour so you understand exactly why it’s happening. Once you understand the cause - and it may differ to what you think - changing the behaviour becomes so much easier.
We then move on to practical training, either indoors or outdoors depending on your dog’s needs. I’ll demonstrate the techniques, coach you through them and help you practice until you are confident using them yourself.
-
Many of my clients come to me after trying group classes or other trainers without achieving the results they hoped for.
Rather than simply teaching commands, I focus on understanding why your dog is behaving that way in the first place. Once we address the root cause, lasting change becomes achievable.
Every programme is tailored to your dog, your family and your goals, with practical coaching that you can confidently continue at home.

Leadership isn’t about dominance, intimidation or punishment.
It’s about providing your dog with clear communication, consistency, fairness and calm guidance. Dogs naturally feel more secure when they understand what is expected of them and can trust the person leading them.
I teach you and your family how to become a calm, confident leader your dog wants to follow, creating a relationship built on trust, respect and understanding.

No,. Over 20 years I’ve developed my own approach by combining modern research with extensive hands on experience.
I’ve worked with many internationally respected dog trainers and behaviour experts including Turid Rugass, Dr Ian Dunbar, Chad Makin, Cherry Wuff-Lucas and Professor Jaak Panksepp, but every dog is an individual.
Rather than following one persons methods, I draw on a wide range of knowledge and select the techniques that are most appropriate for your dog.

Choosing the right dog trainer is important.
My clients value my ability to quickly understand both dogs and their owners, identify the root cause of behavioural problems and explain solutions in a simple, supportive way.
I don’t just train your dog - I teach you the knowledge and practical skills needed to confidently handle future situations. My aim is to give you lasting results and not short term fixes.
Many clients tell me their dogs are calmer, happier and more responsive after just one visit because they finally understand how to communicate with them.
